ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Horizon Multi-disciplinary Research Journal (HMRJ) is a high quality, bi-annual, double blind peer reviewed multi-disciplinary research journal published by the Horizon College of Business and Technology, Malabe, Sri Lanka. HMRJ provides a platform for local and international academia and professionals to impart and share knowledge in the form of Research Papers, Reviews/Resource Articles and Short Research Communications/Technical Advances etc.

AIMS AND SCOPE

Objectives of the journal:

- To provide a forum to local and international academic and professional community to share knowledge and innovations.
- To be a repository of newly created knowledge for the use of present, future members of humanity.

Scope of the journal:

HMRJ welcomes and acknowledges local and international, high quality theoretical and empirical original Researches Articles, Analytical and Simulation Models, Reviews/Resource Articles, Short Research Communications/Technical Advances and Correspondences such as Book Reviews, Conceptual Framework and Opinion Articles from local and international counterparts.

Target group:

Researchers, Scientists, Academics, Professionals, Practitioners, Educationalists, IT specialists, Postgraduates and Graduates any other interested parties.

Submission to HMRJ must follow the journal’s GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS. Poorly written or MSs non-compliance to HMRJ style will be returned to the corresponding author.

  • Research Articles/Analytical and Simulation Models are full length papers presenting complete descriptions of original research or technological achievements. The maximum number of words ideally would be around (not more than) 7,000 including figures, tables and references. It should contain an Abstract (not more than 300 words followed by maximum of five keywords), Introduction, Methodology/ Research Procedures, Results, Discussion, Conclusion followed by Acknowledgement/s (if there is any) and List of References/Bibliography.
  • Reviews/ Resource Articles/ Short Research Communications/ Technical Advances should be critical write-ups on selected field of science or technology and typically be data-rich and provide an important, novel reference source for the field. It should be well focused, organized and avoid general “textbook” style. It is recommended that Reviews/ Resource Articles are around 6000 words (or less), with a total of 6 figures and/ or tables including references. Short Research Communications/Technical Advances are intended to communicate important new findings in a specific area of limited scope that are worthy of dissemination among the scientific/ technical community.Articles on Technical Advances must be useful to a large proportion of the community and not be narrow in scope. Demonstration of how the Technical Advance has led to new insights must also be made. Manuscripts that describe significant advances in the use of an already existing technology will be considered, but variations on existing methods would not qualify for consideration. The article should be consisted of an abstract with keywords, brief introduction, detailed methodology, main results and conclusions. Maximum number of words should be limited to 4,000 including figures, tables* (max 5 all together) and references.
  • Correspondence/ Book reviews/ conceptual framework: Correspondence regarding one or more articles published in a recent issue of the HMRJ, articles covering important recent scientific events or any other latest news of interest to scientists, reviews of new books of scientific nature, and opinion articles presenting views on recent issues/ problems will be considered. Publication will be made at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief. Maximum length of the article should be 2 A4 pages (Font: Times new roman, Font size: 11, line spacing: 1.5, including figures, tables and references).

Advertisements: A limited number of announcements (one or half a page: in black and white or colour) on forth-coming Educational Programs, Scientific or related events such as Workshops/ Seminars/ Conferences/Symposiums/ Training Programs, and Advertisements from service providers are accepted. It should be in print-ready-format and authorized by at least two higher managers including the CEO. Tariffs for advertising in the journal.
