Overview of the Degree

Throughout the world businesses are seeking professionals with the skills to manage one of their most valuable resources: people. Horizon Campus BSc BM (HRM) degree allows you to study human resource management (HRM) leading to careers in human resources management, human capital development and training and development. As a student of BSc HRM degree you’ll develop analytical, quantitative, computing and other transferable skills required by employers as well as a mature understanding of the modern economy, the nature of business and the role HRM can play within it.

Entry Requirements

Minimum of three passes in GCE ALs in any stream.

To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Bachelor of BSc BM (HRM), students must complete 120 credit points of study as follows:

  • 90 Credit core units;
  • 30 credit points of subject specialisation
This course includes 24 weeks of supervised professional experience in the form of an internship in a commercial organisation.

Course Learning Outcomes

The learning outcome of the HRM Special Degree from Horizon Campus is to develop you into a professional in this field.

At the completion of this degree, you will become a qualified HRM professional and can work in fields such as HRM, Business Administration, Personnel Management, Counselling and Training.

You will start your career in an entry level position such as HR Executive, Administration Executive, Personnel Management Executive or in an entry level position in Training or Counseling. Upon gaining experience, you will be in a position to undertake higher responsibilities.

Professional Recognition

Recognition of Bachelor of Science in Business Management (Human Resources Management) by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).

CIPM is the national body in Sri Lanka for the Human Resources Management profession.

CIPM will give exemptions to Horizon Campus HRM graduates. These exemptions will be the same exemptions given to graduates of state university and foreign university HRM special degree.
