Hike to Hanthana

The Environment Society of Horizon Campus, Nature Beyond the Horizon successfully organised the Hike to Hantana mountains on 01st October 2022. Hanthana mountain range is popular as the first choice for adventure seekers and nature lovers.

The journey was supervised by Ms. Danushika Nayomi – Advisor of NatBeHo and guides from Explores’ club of the University of the Peradeniya. In addition, the President of NatBeHo – Mr. Yasiru Dilshan, Secretary of NatBeHo – Ms. Pradeehansi Rathnayake and all executive committee members supported and guided the participants.

The hike was a great success with a total of 60 participants including the staff members, Ms. Sonali Abeysiriwardena – Senior Treasurer of NatBeHo, Mr. Pathum Priyankara, Mr. Udaya Sandaruwan and former Vice President of NatBeHo ’18/19 – Mr. Chathura Priyadarshana.

Prior to the hike, hiking safety and first-aid training session was conducted on 27th September 2022 by Mr. Rimesh Dilshan and Mr. Yasiru Dilshan for the participants.

The hike was an amazing adventure enjoyed by all with memories to cherish!
