The main objective of the Master of Education Degree Program is to provide higher level post degree education to enhance the knowledge, research skills and specialized professional capacities of graduates in the field of education. The Master of Education Degree Program addresses professional capacity development needs of Teachers, Teacher Educators, Curriculum Developers, Educational Administrators & Managers, Educational Planners and other interested personnel in the field of education. It will fulfil the needs of students who wish to develop research skills and competencies to further advancement in their education, enlighten the knowledge of key learning constructs and deepen the professional learning in specialized areas for opening up avenues for becoming professionals in the field of education. Master of Education Program offered by the Faculty of Education is a SLQF - Level 10 Program covers 04 semesters and with total credit hours of 60.

To demonstrate critical awareness of trends and current issues in the field of education and be able to apply techniques relevant to profession/ area of specialization as well as to focus on current research and thinking, to evaluate and analyze critically the implication of practices in the field of education and apply the findings for enhancing and enriching the quality of education.
To construct new hypotheses in the field of Education to test them in a scientific manner and communicate the findings/conclusions clearly in oral and written format to make solutions for educational problems and to apply in-depth knowledge gained through research, in the design, implementation, and evaluation of curricula and learning program.
To design learning environments that develop the critical and creative abilities of learners and apply current and emerging technologies based on theories and research in meeting the diverse needs of learners for enhancing their learning as well as to demonstrate self-direction and originality in tackling and solving problems and be able to plan and implement tasks at professional manner.
