Core modules include: Fundamentals of Biology: This core area lays the groundwork for understanding the complex world of living organisms. Students delve into fundamental concepts of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and ecology, providing a foundation for further specialization. Bioresource Diversity: This module explores the vast array of biological resources available, including plants, animals, microbes, and their potential applications. Students learn about renewable resources like biomass, forestry products, and biofuels, as well as non-renewable resources like fossil fuels and their environmental implications. Biotechnology and Bioprocessing: This core area equips students with a strong understanding of modern biotechnology techniques. They learn about DNA manipulation, fermentation processes, enzyme technology, and their applications in bioresource utilization and product development.
