The Science Research Symposium 2026 (SciReS 2026)

The Science Research Symposium 2026 (SciReS 2026) marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of Science, Horizon Campus, as it hosts its first-ever undergraduate research symposium. Undergraduate research is a core component of the BSc. Honours in Biotechnology degree program, where final-year students undertake supervised research projects as part of their academic curriculum. This year, 162 students from Batch 02 are actively engaged in diverse research projects. SciReS 2026 is designed to provide a formal academic platform for these students to present and disseminate their research findings while receiving constructive feedback from academic experts.

Beyond presentations, the symposium aims to foster a strong research culture within the faculty by encouraging critical thinking, scientific communication, and innovation. The event will bring together students, academic staff, and external experts, creating valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration. Importantly, student involvement in organizing the symposium will further enhance essential soft skills, including teamwork, leadership, and communication, supporting their future career development.
